“While Danny’s chemotherapy treatment has been very effective so far, his cancer is the most aggressive mutation, which means that his medical team will continue fortnightly chemotherapy for the foreseeable future. This makes touring impossible and as such, the band has made a collective decision to cancel all shows in 2024 to ensure all focus is on Danny’s recovery and continuing the positive medical progress being made. 

Voyager promises to continue being active in other ways; with Eurovision exhibitions at various museums and media appearances, as well as the band’s growing Patreon and online fanbase, 2024 promises to be a creative year for Voyager. Danny attributes so much of his positivity to the incredible fanbase support over the last few months and Voyager extends thanks to everyone for understanding a very difficult decision.”

The good news is that Danny’s chemotherapy is working, the bad news is that we have made the decision to cancel all 2024 live performances in order to allow the chemo to continue working its magic, with the hope that Danny can continue to #fvckcancer and regain his strength. You’ve all been incredible, and we didn’t make this decision lightly. We will continue to be active as a band in other ways and we appreciate your continued support. While we can’t tour right now, we have many other things in the works and 2024 still promises to be an exciting year for us as a band, and the creative juices are flowing.

Von Perth über den Eurovision Song Contest auf die Bühnen Deutschlands: Die Karriere von Voyager ist alles andere als gewöhnlich. Im Oktober kommt die australische Ausnahmeband mit ihrem neuen Album „Fearless In Love“ für drei ausgewählte Shows nach Hamburg, Berlin und München.Spätestens seit 2023 ist der Name Voyager auch außerhalb der australischen Rock- und Metal-Szene kein Geheimtipp mehr. Die Geschichte der Band beginnt jedoch schon viele Jahre früher, im Jahr 1999 in der westaustralischen Küstenstadt Perth. Vier Jahre nach ihrer Gründung veröffentlicht die Gruppe um Sänger Daniel Estrin 2003 ihr erstes Album „Element V“, das ihnen direkt einen Platz im Vorprogramm von Gitarristen-Ikone Steve Vai sichert.

In den folgenden zwei Dekaden veröffentlichen Voyager sechs weitere Alben und spielen mit so illustren Bands wie Queensrÿche, Alestorm, Epica und Children Of Bodom. In dieser Zeit entwickeln sie ihren Prog-Metal in der Tradition von Progressive-Helden wie Dream Theater und Nevermore stetig weiter, verarbeiten Einflüsse aus Pop und Djent und perfektionieren den Einsatz ihres Trademark-Instruments: der Keytar.Tour um Tour, Album um Album erkämpft der Fünfer sich jedes Stück seines Erfolges selbst – und diese Leidenschaft zahlt sich aus: 2023 vertreten sie mit ihrem Song „Promise“ als erste Band in der ESC-Geschichte Australiens ihr Heimatland beim Eurovision Song Contest und können Menschen weltweit mit ihrer energiegeladenen Performance begeistern.

Voyager denken jedoch gar nicht daran, sich auf ihren Lorbeeren auszuruhen: Vier Jahre nach „Colours In The Sun“ veröffentlichen sie am 14. Juli 2023 ihr achtes Studioalbum „Fearless In Love“. Der erste Vorgeschmack „Prince Of Fire“ beweist bereits, dass uns hier wieder ein dynamisches Album mit treibenden Riffs und unwiderstehlichen Hooks ins Haus steht. Um die Veröffentlichung ihres neuen Albums gebührend zu feiern, machen Voyager einen Abstecher nach Deutschland, wo sie im Oktober drei Headline-Shows spielen werden.
