3, 10, Why, When is Jamie’s third album, one that wasn’t supposed to happen. After Mirrorwriting (2011) and the Mercury-nominated Making Time (2015), he disappeared. „I was haunted by the question of what’s worth saying?“ The answer came through working with Swedish producer Martin Terefe at Eastcote Studios. „He sort of tricked me into making an album,“ Jamie says. „We made one song, then another, then when we had ten we just said that’s the album.“ Strange, spiky percussion gives way to lush strings. 3am thoughts sit alongside deep currents of love and belonging. Singing the torment becomes the remedy for that same torment. „I don’t really know how to explain this music.
