Ihr Debüt gaben Nothing vor sieben Jahren mit „Guilty Of Everything“ (2004). Es folgten „Tired Of Tomorrow“ (2016), „Dance On The Blacktop“ (2018) und zuletzt eben „The Great Dismal“ (2020). Wie der Titel bereits andeutet, befasst sich die Band um Domenic „Nicky“ Palermo auf jenem Werk hauptsächlich mit existentiellen Themen wie der Isolation, des Aussterbens und des eigenen Verhaltens in der zerrütteten Landschaft des Jahres 2020. “The Great Dismal refers to a swamp, a brilliant natural trap where survival is custom fit to its inhabitants“, so Frontmann Domenic Palermo über das Album. “The nature of its beautiful, but taxing environment and harsh conditions can’t ever really be shaken or forgotten too easily”.

Mit „The Great Dismal“ schlugen die Musiker bereits ein neues Kapitel ihrer Karriere auf, die neue Single „Amber Gambler“ führt die musikalische Experimentierfreude der Band nun hörbar fort. Im März nächsten Jahres dürfen wir Nothing dann endlich auch wieder hierzulande auf der Bühne begrüßen.
